Firstly, we meet with you to obtain an in-depth understanding of your requirements. This is to ensure that all are aware of the objectives to be achieved and to determine the most relevant design/creative route to fulfil your expectation.
One of the key elements here is to establish exactly who you want to target. Your target audience, their demographics, the benefits to them of interacting with your business/product, their habits, issues, online interests etc. From this information, we are then able to specify the positioning, content and functionality of the proposed website.
It may be that you'd like to be seen as a generic source of information 'sponsored by' a given brand - this can help add credence and suggest impartiality. Or perhaps you'd like to have copy written by an expert in a given field... We can suggest creative solutions to make your proposed site work harder for you.
All requirements are then documented and form the website specification. This documentation will include a map of the suggested website contents and proposed details of each area, describing functionality to be contained within. Once all parties have agreed the specification, Alchemy will put together a schedule for development, outlining the critical path of production and milestones to be achieved.
Working from the website specification, Alchemy will create design concepts for the website. On agreement of the 'look and feel' and navigation method to be used, Alchemy will develop an on-line prototype of the website. Once we receive your approval of the prototype, we will proceed with the production of the site.
The Alchemy team will then develop the site, as per the agreed specification. We work within the W3C guidelines and can develop the site in line with guidelines set for accessibility in the Data protection act.
At this stage, draft copy will be provided for in-house approval and passed through the relevant regulatory bodies for your business/target audience (see Boundaries).
The website development is moved to the final host location. From here we perform live testing and proof reading of the whole site. The site will be fully tested for functionality and ease of navigation across all platforms - whether the end user is on a PC or Mac, using Netscape Browsers versions 4+, Microsoft Explorer Browsers 4+ or a 56k modem. We leave nothing to chance.
The exciting bit! The site goes 'live' and is given a final check over. Only when we are completely satisfied that it is exactly as you'd hoped will be break open the champagne and commence the online promotion.

We issue weekly or monthly reports, detailing website traffic and highlighting any key learnings we have ascertained from the website usage. We will also provide ranking reports that track listings of the site with search engines.
